Job summary

Ainscough Crane Hire is seeking a skilled Crane Mechanic/Heavy Plant Engineer to maintain and repair our fleet of mobile cranes in Brentwood. You’ll join an experienced engineering team, ensuring equipment remains safe, compliant and ready to support customer operations.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical and hydraulic engineering skills.
• Experience diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults.
• A proactive approach with excellent problem-solving ability.
• A commitment to working safely and delivering high-quality workmanship.
• A full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Servicing, inspecting and repairing mobile cranes and associated equipment.
• Diagnosing and resolving mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and pneumatic faults.
• Carrying out preventative maintenance to minimise downtime.
• Responding to breakdowns and completing repairs safely and efficiently.
• Maintaining accurate service records and inspection documentation.
• Working closely with operational teams to plan maintenance activities.
• Identifying opportunities to improve reliability and engineering performance.
