About The Role:

Location:Shrewsbury

Contracted Hours: Minimum 40 hours per week (Monday–Friday)

As a Security Officer in the Courts and Tribunal System, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring the safety and smooth operation of court buildings. You’ll be a reassuring presence for court users, providing excellent customer service and maintaining a secure environment. This role ismobile, covering a geographic area defined by aradius of your base location. You will need to be able to get to all the different locations in your defined area, as you will be covering varying sites depending on demand, sickness and holiday cover. Travel expenses and parking will be paid back to you and are processed three times per month.

As part of your role, your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Welcome and guide court users with professionalism and empathy.
  • Operate security equipment (CCTV, x-ray machines, metal detectors).
  • Conduct bag checks and security screenings.
  • Patrol court buildings and respond to incidents calmly and effectively.
  • Maintain clear communication with the control room and your team.

The ideal candidate should meet the following criteria:

  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Willingness to undergo enhanced DBS and BS7858 security clearance.
  • A valid SIA Licence and relevant security experience.
  • Strong communication and people skills.
  • A commitment to high standards and attention to detail.
  • A full UK driving licence may be required (location dependent).
