Job summary

Plant and Equipment Hire Business is seeking a Mobile Compliance Technician to perform inspections, compliance checks and essential maintenance across Slough and surrounding areas. You will ensure equipment is safe, serviceable and compliant before hire or return to service, working independently across multiple sites.

The ideal candidate has experience in plant machinery inspections, understands LOLER and PUWER requirements, and holds a Full UK driving licence.

Qualifications

The Opportunity

We are working with an established plant and equipment hire business looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Mobile Compliance Technician to join their team, covering Slough and the surrounding areas.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in plant machinery, equipment inspections, LOLER examinations or preventative maintenance who is looking to develop their career within the plant hire industry.

You will be responsible for carrying out inspections, compliance checks and maintenance activities across a range of equipment, ensuring machinery is safe, serviceable and compliant with relevant standards before being returned to service or hired out to customers.

The successful candidate will be organised, technically minded and confident working independently across multiple sites.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out routine inspections and compliance checks on plant and equipment.
• Complete equipment examinations and inspections in line with relevant legislation, company procedures and manufacturer guidelines.
• Identify defects, damage and safety concerns, reporting any issues requiring further investigation or repair.
• Ensure equipment is maintained in a safe, compliant and operational condition.
• Carry out basic maintenance and minor repairs where required.
• Complete inspection reports, compliance documentation and maintenance records accurately.
• Identify equipment requiring further servicing, repair or specialist examination.
• Liaise with workshop teams, service engineers and depot staff to coordinate necessary repairs.
• Travel to customer sites and company depots throughout the Slough area.
• Ensure all work is completed in accordance with health and safety requirements.
• Maintain company tools, equipment and vehicle in a safe and serviceable condition.

The Ideal Candidate

• Previous experience within plant hire, construction equipment, mechanical maintenance or equipment inspections.
• Knowledge of plant machinery and associated safety requirements.
• Experience carrying out inspections, compliance checks or preventative maintenance.
• Understanding of LOLER and PUWER requirements would be advantageous.
• Strong attention to detail and accurate record-keeping skills.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work independently.
• A proactive approach to identifying faults and resolving issues.
• Full UK driving licence.
