Job summary

Trane Technologies is seeking an experienced Commercial Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineer based at Kingstown Industrial Estate, Carlisle, Cumbria. The role involves mobile work covering Cumbria and Southwest Scotland, attending customer sites for reactive call-outs, installations and planned maintenance.

You will work on a range of refrigeration and HVAC equipment for hospitality, education, food and manufacturing sectors, ensuring compliance with standards and safety.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in refrigeration and HVAC industry.
• Proven experience in commercial refrigeration and air conditioning service, maintenance, and installation.
• A current F‑Gas certification.
• A full, clean UK driving licence.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• The ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
• A flexible approach to work, including participation in on‑call rota.

Responsibilities

• Carry out installations of air conditioning and refrigeration equipment in line with customer specifications.
• Diagnose faults and carry out repairs on refrigeration and air conditioning equipment.
• Complete routine planned preventative maintenance (PPM) works.
• Produce condition reports, identifying and documenting any remedial works required.
• Ensure all refrigeration systems comply with relevant industry standards, environmental regulations, and health and safety requirements.
• Maintain accurate documentation for all work undertaken.
• Work effectively both independently and as part of a wider team.
• Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
• Provide a professional and customer-focused service at all times.
