Job description

Job Title: Mobile Catering Supervisor

We are seeking a dedicated Mobile Catering Supervisor to join our team, working Monday to Friday within Primary or High Schools in Glenrothes and Lochgelly.

Responsibilities:

1. Oversee all kitchen activities, including cooking, food organisation, and supervision of food service.
2. Supervise kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations.
3. Maintain HACCP procedures, complete, and submit all required paperwork accurately.
4. Understand and cater to dietary and nutritional needs.
5. Transport and serve meals, perform general kitchen and dining duties such as washing up, setting up, and clearing tables, and cleaning the kitchen and surrounding areas.

Locations and Working Hours:

• Glenrothes: Auchmuty High School, 30 hours/week, 38-week contract, 8:00am - 2:30pm, Monday to Friday.
• Lochgelly: Lochgelly High School, 30 hours/week, 52-week contract, 7:00am - 3:00pm, Monday to Friday as required.

Salary and Benefits:

• £12.59 per hour to start, with additional payments for shift work, including weekends.
• Annualised pay with equal installments every 4 weeks.
• Travel expenses paid at 45 pence per mile for staff using their own vehicle.
• Training opportunities and qualifications support, including working towards an Intermediate Food Hygiene Certificate.

• Membership of Fife Pension Fund, part of the Scottish Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS Scotland).

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Catering experience or a qualification such as SVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent.
• Obtain PVG scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland before appointment.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team to provide effective service.
• Ability to travel to multiple locations within the area at short notice.
• Attend induction training prior to starting.

Training on in-house systems will be provided.
