Job summary

Lancashire County Council's School Catering Service is recruiting for Mobile Catering Assistant roles in Lancaster, Morecambe and surrounding areas. This part-time, term-time-only position (16.25 hours/week) offers flexible hours and a permanent, variable schedule, ideal for families.

A driving license/own car is required to access school sites and operate across multiple locations. You will help serve meals, support kitchen duties, and maintain a safe, welcoming dining environment for pupils,

Lancashire County Council's School Catering Service provides more than 60,000 meals every day across over 500 schools, and you'll play an important part in serving a nutritious meal to the children of Lancashire.

Local Government Reorganisation

The Government has confirmed that local government across Lancashire will be reorganised, with the current 15 councils being replaced by four new unitary councils covering North, South, East and West Lancashire from April 2028.

If you are successful in your application, you will initially join Lancashire County Council. However, as part of the planned transition, your employment will transfer to one of the new unitary councils from April 2028, subject to the implementation of the reorganisation and relevant employment legislation.
