Job description

Home Energy Advisor

(Barrow In Furness, Ulverston, Askam )

30 hours per week

£12.85 – £14.20 per hour

Our client has an opportunity for a Home Energy Advisor

Our client offers free advice which helps people living in their own property; or renting from a private landlord, possibly suffering from Fuel Poverty and struggling at finding ways out of it.

As a Home Energy Advisor you will visit the property and provide support to: –

  • Install radiator foils, energy efficient lightbulbs, draught proofing items
  • You will also provide advice on private landlord’s responsibilities, smart meters, damp and condensation, Carbon Monoxide and the Priority Services Register.
  • Help tenants/homeowners access any grant funding, Warm Homes Discount, Insulation grants or replacement boilers, etc
  • Give help and advice for applying to hardship funds for energy/water debt.
  • There is some reporting involved so candidates must be PC literate

The Candidate

This role requires a practical individual who can be hands on, but also someone with a caring nature who has a strong desire for helping people. You will need to be highly organised and adaptable as no two days will be the same.

You will undertake assessments, fit practical energy saving measures and then offer energy saving advice to residents.

It’s a unique and challenging role that gives you the chance to make a difference to people’s lives every day.

Appropriate qualifications in energy efficiency would be useful but not vital as we will provide full in-job training for the successful candidates.

Employment is subject to a satisfactory Enhanced Disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service.

For this role you need to be a UK resident and eligible to work in the UK
