Job summary

McCarthy & Stone is seeking a Mobile Care Assistant to join our care team across Skipton & Surrounding Area. You will provide personal care, assist with daily activities, and support wellbeing while travelling between developments with a valid UK driving license.

The role is part-time with a rota including mornings, evenings, weekends; £14.50 per hour plus 30p extra for evenings and £1.30 extra for weekends.

Qualifications

• Level 2 Health and Social Care qualification preferred; training provided.

Due to our evolving care and lifestyle delivery, we are looking for passionate Mobile Care Assistants to join our growing care team.

Location: Across Skipton & Surrounding Area - A valid full UK driving license and use of your own vehicle is essential to be considered for this role. Travel expenses covered, mileage paid at 43p per mile.

Hourly rate: £14.50 per hour, plus earn an EXTRA 30p per hour for working evening hours, and an EXTRA £1.30 per hour for weekend hours.

Hours: Part time hours available on a rota basis that will include mornings, evenings and weekends

About the Role: This is a dual role consisting of Personal Care and Domestic Services. You’ll work closely with the Field Care Supervisor, House Managers and Registered Care Manager to deliver personal bespoke care and lifestyle services. This could be from assisting with personal care, household tasks to offering companionship and supporting wellbeing activities. There is the expectation to ensure communal areas are cleaned regularly too.

This is a mobile field-based role to grow our care service so there is a requirement to travel between our developments.

Key Responsibilities

• Support Individual Homeowners: To provide personalised care, including help with daily activities, personal hygiene, and medication assistance.
• Domestic: Maintain communal areas within our developments to a high standard, ensuring a clean, tidy, and welcoming environment for all homeowners. You will also offer domestic support for our homeowners, such as cleaning, shopping, and managing household tasks.
• Social Support: To assist homeowners with social activities, transport arrangements, and attending appointments, enhancing their overall well-being and social connections.

What We’re Looking For

• Skills & Experience: Ideally you will have previous experience in a care environment with a Level 2 Health and Social Care. However, this is not essential as we can provide full training for anyone looking for a career change. You must have strong interpersonal skills, empathy, and the ability to manage your time effectively. We welcome applications from people with domestic or housekeeping experience too.
• Driving License: This is a field-based role, so a valid full UK driving license is required, and access to your own car along with a willingness to travel between developments.
• Flexibility: The ability to work on a rota basis that will include early mornings, lates and alternate weekends, and some bank holidays.
