Job summary

McCarthy Stone is seeking passionate Mobile Care Assistants to join our care team in Bolton and surrounding areas. The role combines personal care and domestic tasks to enhance the quality of life for our older homeowners in our purpose-built developments.

Travel between sites is required and a valid UK driving licence is essential. You will work with the Field Care Supervisor and House Managers to deliver bespoke care, assist with daily activities, household tasks and provide companionship.

Qualifications

• Experience in a care environment preferred, full training provided.
• Must have driving licence and access to own car.
• Flexible rota including mornings, evenings, weekends and bank holidays.

Location

Bolton & Surrounding Areas - a valid full UK driving licence and use of your own vehicle is essential to be considered for this role. Travel expenses covered, mileage paid at 43p per mile.

Pay & Hours

Hourly rate: £14.50 per hour, plus earn an EXTRA 30p per hour for working evening hours, and an EXTRA £1.30 for weekend hours.

Hours: Various Contracts available on a rota basis that will include mornings, evenings and alternate weekends (may include some bank holidays) anytime between 7am to 10pm.

About the Role

We are looking for passionate Care Assistants to join our growing care team. Are you compassionate, proactive, and eager to make a difference in the lives of older adults? Join McCarthy & Stone as a Mobile Care Assistant and play a key role in enhancing the quality of life for our homeowners in our beautiful purpose-built developments.

This is a dual role consisting of Personal Care and Domestic Services. You’ll work closely with the Field Care Supervisor, House Managers and Registered Care Manager to deliver personal bespoke care and lifestyle services. This could be from assisting with personal care, household tasks to offering companionship and supporting wellbeing activities. There is the expectation to ensure communal areas are cleaned regularly too.

This is a mobile field-based role to grow our care service so there is a requirement to travel between our developments.

Key Responsibilities

• Support Individual Homeowners: To provide personalised care, including help with daily activities, personal hygiene, and medication assistance.
• Domestic: Maintain communal areas within our developments to a high standard, ensuring a clean, tidy, and welcoming environment for all homeowners. You will also offer domestic support for our homeowners, such as cleaning, shopping, and managing household tasks.
• Social Support: To assist homeowners with social activities, transport arrangements, and attending appointments, enhancing their overall well‑being and social connections.

What We’re Looking For

• Skills & Experience: Ideally you will have previous experience in a care environment with a Level 2 Health and Social Care. However, this is not essential as we can provide full training for anyone looking for a career change. You must have strong interpersonal skills, empathy, and the ability to manage your time effectively. We welcome applications from people with domestic or housekeeping experience.
• Driving License: This is a field-based role, so a valid full UK driving licence is required, and access to your own car along with a willingness to travel between developments.
• Flexibility: The ability to work on a rota basis that will include early mornings, late and alternate weekends, and some bank holidays.
