Job summary

McCarthy & Stone Ltd is seeking passionate Care Assistants to join our mobile care team. This 25-hour-per-week role covers mornings, evenings and alternate weekends, and may include bank holidays. You will provide personal care, assist with daily tasks, and support wellbeing for older homeowners across our developments.

Travel between sites is required; a valid UK driving license and your own vehicle are essential, with mileage paid. Full training is provided for those changing careers.

• Strong interpersonal skills, empathy and time management.

Responsibilities

• Personal care support for homeowners, including daily activities and medication assistance.
• Domestic tasks to keep communal areas clean and welcoming.
• Provide social support and accompany homeowners to appointments and activities.
• Travel between McCarthy & Stone developments; own vehicle and mileage paid.
• Work on a rota including mornings, evenings, weekends, and some bank holidays.

Job description

Due to our evolving care and lifestyle delivery, we are looking for passionate Care Assistants to join our growing care team., 25 hours per week on a rota basis that will include mornings, evenings and alternate weekends (may include some bank holidays) anytime between 7am to 10pm. Are you compassionate, proactive, and eager to make a difference in the lives of older adults? Join McCarthy & Stone as a Mobile Care Assistant and play a key role in enhancing the quality of life for our homeowners in our beautiful purpose-built developments. About the Role: This is a dual role consisting of Personal Care and Domestic Services. You'll work closely with the Field Care Supervisor, House Managers and Registered Care Manager to deliver personal bespoke care and lifestyle services. This could be from assisting with personal care, household tasks to offering companionship and supporting wellbeing activities. There is the expectation to ensure communal areas are cleaned regularly too. This is a mobile field-based role to grow our care service so there is a requirement to travel between our developments.

• Support Individual Homeowners: To provide personalised care, including help with daily activities, personal hygiene, and medication assistance.
• Domestic: Maintain communal areas within our developments to a high standard, ensuring a clean, tidy, and welcoming environment for all homeowners. You will also offer domestic support for our homeowners, such as cleaning, shopping, and managing household tasks.
• Social Support: To assist homeowners with social activities, transport arrangements, and attending appointments, enhancing their overall well-being and social connections.
• A valid full UK driving license and use of your own vehicle is essential to be considered for this role. Travel expenses covered, mileage paid 43p per mile.
• Flexibility: The ability to work on a rota basis that will include early mornings, lates and alternate weekends, and some bank holidays.
• Skills & Experience: We would love you will have previous experience in a care environment with a Level 2 Health and Social Care BUT this is not essential, as we can provide full training for anyone looking for a career change. You must have strong interpersonal skills, empathy, and the ability to manage your time effectively.
