Job summary

McCarthy Stone is seeking a Mobile Care Assistant to join our care team in Hertford and surrounding areas. You’ll travel between developments delivering personalised care, domestic support, and companionship to our homeowners, while ensuring communal areas are kept clean and welcoming.

The role combines personal care with practical domestic tasks; full training is provided, and driving between sites is required.

Qualifications

• Experience in a care environment is preferred but not essential with full training provided.
• Strong interpersonal skills, empathy and good time management are essential.
• Domestic/housekeeping experience welcomed as part of care and domestic tasks.

Location

Hertford, and surrounding area - A valid full UK driving license and use of your own vehicle is essential to be considered for this role. Travel expenses covered, mileage paid at 43p per mile.

Hourly rate

£14.50 per hour, plus earn an EXTRA 30p per hour for working evening hours, and an EXTRA £1.30 for weekend hours.

Various hours available

per week on a rota basis that will include mornings, evenings and alternate weekends (may include some bank holidays) anytime between 7am to 10pm.

About the Role

This is a dual role consisting of Personal Care and Domestic Services. You’ll work closely with the Field Care Supervisor, House Managers and Registered Care Manager to deliver personal bespoke care and lifestyle services. This could be from assisting with personal care, household tasks to offering companionship and supporting wellbeing activities. There is the expectation to ensure communal areas are cleaned regularly too.

This is a mobile field-based role to grow our care service so there is a requirement to travel between our developments.

Key Responsibilities

• Support Individual Homeowners: To provide personalised care, including help with daily activities, personal hygiene, and medication assistance.
• Domestic: Maintain communal areas within our developments to a high standard, ensuring a clean, tidy, and welcoming environment for all homeowners. You will also offer domestic support for our homeowners, such as cleaning, shopping, and managing household tasks.
• Social Support: To assist homeowners with social activities, transport arrangements, and attending appointments, enhancing their overall well-being and social connections.

What We’re Looking For

• Skills & Experience: We would love you will have previous experience in a care environment with a Level 2 Health and Social Care BUT this is not essential, as we can provide full training for anyone looking for a career change. You must have strong interpersonal skills, empathy, and the ability to manage your time effectively. We welcome applications from people with domestic or housekeeping experience.
• Driving License: This is a field-based role, so a valid full UK driving license is required, and access to your own car along with a willingness to travel between developments.
• Flexibility: The ability to work on a rota basis that will include early mornings, lates and alternate weekends, and some bank holidays.
