Job Description:

Equans is looking for a Mobile BMS Engineer to join our Smart Buildings business, covering London and other parts of Southern England on a permanent, full-time basis.

Smart Building have a very exciting opportunity to deliver critical Building Management System (BMS) Infrastructure upgrades / enhancements across a number of sectors including commercial, retail, healthcare, education & government across the country. We aim to make sites Smart-enabled, allowing us to introduce further value via IoT solutions, driving social, economic, and environmental benefits for the sites and their occupants.

Smart buildings currently deliver projects ranging from £10k to £1.5m, with an evolving blend of inhouse delivery and specialist supply chain partners. With an aggressive growth strategy over the next 3-5 years, this role will be key in shaping and growing the team sustainably.

Key activities:

The Service Engineer will perform tasks on contracted customer sites, including PFI Schools, PFI Hospitals, Government Estates, and MOD sites. Daily responsibilities include:

• Install, configure, and commission BMS components and equipment, including sensors, controllers, actuators, and software systems.
• Perform maintenance checks on Trend, Tridium, and Distech BMSs.
• Participate in reactive call-out rota (additional pay included).
• Provide technical support and advice to clients regarding BMS systems.
• Identify opportunities for improvements and remedial works to enhance BMS performance.
• Prepare proposals and quotes as needed.

Skills, Qualifications & Experience:

• City & Guilds / BTEC / NVQ Electrical qualifications.
• Extensive knowledge of BMS / HVAC systems.
• Experience with Trend, Tridium Controls/Niagara, Distech, Siemens.
• Strong electrical industry knowledge.
• Ability to interpret electrical and mechanical schematic diagrams.
• Understanding of IT networks.
• Proficient in AutoCAD.
• Full UK driving license.
• Controls training/experience.
• Experience fault-finding in electrical panels.
• Good report writing skills.
