Brief

We are seeking a Mobile BMS Engineer for a well-known Facilities Management organisation based in Cambridge. The ideal candidate will be experienced and well-rounded, with in-depth knowledge of Trend, Tridium Controls, Niagara, Distech, and Siemens systems.

The successful candidate must have excellent understanding of the electrical industry and a keen interest in developing a career as a BMS Engineer. Candidates should also hold relevant qualifications such as City & Guilds, BTEC, or NVQ in an electrical field.

Role Responsibilities

The BMS Service Engineer will perform tasks on contracted customer sites, including PFI Schools, PFI Hospitals, Government Estates, and MOD sites. Responsibilities include:

  • Installing, configuring, and maintaining BMS components such as sensors, controllers, actuators, and software systems.
  • Conducting maintenance checks on Trend, Tridium, and Distech BMS systems.
  • Participating in reactive call-out rota (additional pay included).
  • Providing technical support and advice to clients regarding their BMS systems.
  • Identifying opportunities for system improvements and remedial works.
  • Preparing proposals and quotations for works as needed.

Candidate Requirements

  • Electrical qualifications (City & Guilds, BTEC, NVQ).
  • Extensive knowledge of BMS/HVAC systems.
  • Experience with Trend, Tridium Controls/Niagara, Distech, Siemens.
  • Strong electrical industry knowledge.
  • Ability to read electrical and mechanical schematic diagrams.
  • Understanding of IT networks.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD.
  • Valid UK driving license.
  • Controls training/experience.
  • Experience fault-finding in electrical panels.
  • DBS and BPSS vetting clearance.
  • Excellent communication and written skills.
