Job description

Equans is seeking a Mobile BMS Engineer to join our Digital team, covering Stoke On Trent and surrounding areas on a full-time basis.

Our Digital division offers exciting opportunities to upgrade and enhance Building Management System (BMS) infrastructure across various sectors including commercial, retail, healthcare, education, and government nationwide. We aim to make sites Smart Enabled, enabling further value through IoT solutions that benefit communities and the environment.

We handle project works from £10k to £1.5m, supported by in-house teams and specialist partners. With aggressive growth plans over the next 3-5 years, this role is key to shaping and expanding our team sustainably.

Key activities:
  • Installing, configuring, and maintaining BMS components such as sensors, controllers, actuators, and software systems.
  • Performing maintenance on Trend, Tridium, and Distech BMSs across various sites.
  • Participating in a reactive call-out rota, with additional financial benefits.
  • Providing technical support and advice to clients on BMS systems.
  • Identifying opportunities for system improvements and remedial works.
  • Preparing proposals and quotations for works.
Skills, Qualifications & Experience:
  • Electrical qualifications such as City & Guilds, BTEC, or NVQ.
  • Extensive knowledge of BMS/HVAC systems.
  • Experience with Trend, Tridium Controls/Niagara, Distech, Siemens.
  • Strong electrical industry knowledge.
  • Ability to interpret electrical and mechanical schematics.
  • Understanding of IT networks.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD.
  • Valid UK driving license.
  • Controls training or experience.
  • Experience fault-finding in electrical panels.
  • DBS and BPSS vetting.
  • Excellent communication skills.
