Job summary

Pilgrims Europe is seeking a Relief Farm Manager to cover Lincolnshire broiler farms on a 5 from 7 shift, with a sixth day as required, 40 hours per week. You will manage welfare, environmental systems, feed and water, while maintaining records and coordinating farm staff.

You will need a Level 2/3 Poultry Passport and a full driving licence, with opportunities to develop via our Agriculture Academy and a performance-related bonus scheme.

Qualifications

• Level 2/3 Poultry Passport Qualification required or to be completed.
• Be prepared to undertake NVQs as part of ongoing development.
• Budget management experience is desirable.
• Demonstrated sound decision-making abilities.
• Full driving licence is essential.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and coordinate others.
• Previous supervisory experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Cover Farm Managers/Assistant Farm Managers to ensure consistent farm operation.
• Manage environmental systems, feed, water, and lighting within guidelines to optimize bird welfare.
• Maintain accurate records on birds, feed, water, and suppliers; monitor alarms and respond to call-outs.
• Coordinate and supervise farm staff, ensuring adherence to health, safety and hygiene protocols.
• Support the Agriculture Academy for ongoing development and growth of farm teams.

Relief Farm Manager Required - Lincolnshire Broiler Farms

This role is a 5 from 7 shift pattern, with a sixth day as required by the needs of the business, covering 40 hours a week.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Relief Farm Manager to join the team, who if not already, will become an eggspert of poultry in Pilgrims Europe!

We have an opportunity for an experienced Relief Farm Manager to join our Broiler team and provide cover for Farm Managers/Assistant Farm Managers so that the Farms have sufficient cover to be managed to the required standards and also ensuring a good working knowledge of each farm, location and the business as a whole for successful completion of duties.

You’ll gain a good working knowledge of each farm and understand poultry within Moy Park. With animal welfare being at the forefront, you will ensure all health, safety and hygiene processes are adhered to and that the Farm Assistants are able to carry out their daily duties. You’ll be responsible for managing and monitoring environmental systems, feed, water, lighting patterns within agreed guidelines to ensure the highest quality environment so that the birds can thrive. Organised and IT literate, you will maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all matters relating to the birds, food, and suppliers, ensuring that an adequate supply is maintained and controlled to acceptable levels, including management of alarms, which may require call outs.

With previous experience in a similar role, you will be a sound decision maker, who can work autonomously. You’ll ideally have supervisory and people management skills and will be able to coordinate the work of other individuals to ensure the continuous working of each farm. You will also need to complete the Level 3 qualification Poultry Passport.

Due to the nature of the role, you will require a driving licence to travel to the individual farms, although a work van will be provided.
