Description
Extensive travel and working away from home, on-site near Oxford, is required for this role.
As the Plant Manager (Asphalt) working within our Mobile Plant Solutions Team, you enjoy working in a ‘hands on’ position overseeing the smooth running of Asphalt Plant projects (airports) across the country.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for leading, managing and directing Asphalt Plant projects and will endeavour to ensure that contract deliverables are executed both efficiently and effectively for the business, on time, within budget and to contract requirements and specification.

Key Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Be the primary contact for Asphalt Operations across the project
  • Produce and maintain a daily and short term operational programme of works and volume
  • Liaise with Technical Team to ensure all mix cards at all plants are properly managed to maximise bitumen efficiency, OCL compliance and aggregate quality
  • Ensure the Asphalt Plant Operatives undertake the work in accordance with mix specification, best working practice, allotted timeframe and outputs
  • Supervise and monitor operations to ensure a high standard of safety, quality and profitability Maximise productivity by measuring output and inputs
  • Ensure all statutory legislation and company rules are adhered to
  • Ensure that all commercial controls, authorisation levels and procedures are adhered to
  • Ensure that all operatives, sub-contractors and suppliers are compliant with all corporate and statutory legislation and obligations.
  • Ensure the implementation and promotion of the Company HSEQ Policy, procedures and safety commitments
  • Provide clear and concise HSEQ instruction and information to Asphalt Plant Operatives, sub-contractors, suppliers and any other persons affected by Asphalt operations
  • Produce site Method Statements and Risk Assessments
  • Ensure that all site rules and procedures are observed and implemented

  • Extensive relevant operational experience and able to demonstrate a sound knowledge of asphalt operations, maintenance activities and extensive line management experience
  • The ability to drive profit generation, optimise efficiency and quality
  • The ability to manage competing deadlines by estimating time frames and monitoring own progress
  • The ability to anticipate problems and consider a solution and the ability to negotiate and work collaboratively with colleagues on both a formal and informal level

  • Ability to plan, organise and oversee projects
  • Excellent communication skills with an analytical approach and the ability to work accurately at a detailed level

  • A valid UK Driving License
