Job summary

Wide and Wise is seeking a Mobile Application Engineer to join our partner company in London. You will build production-grade mobile apps across iOS and Android, leveraging React Native and TypeScript, with strong emphasis on AI integration and real-world customer workflows.

You will work directly with customers, design end-to-end mobile features, and own implementations from discovery through deployment in a fast-paced startup environment.

Qualifications

• Experience building cross‑platform mobile apps with React Native and TypeScript.
• Solid native iOS/Android understanding; Swift/Kotlin when needed.
• Experience publishing apps to App/Play Store; backend integration experience a plus.

We are looking for a Mobile Application Engineer to join our partner company!

Our partner is building advanced AI systems that accelerate progress in the physical world, helping transform industries such as aerospace, healthcare, manufacturing, and energy that are still constrained by outdated, manual processes.

They are looking for a Mobile Application Engineer who thrives at the intersection of mobile engineering, product development, and customer collaboration. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working directly with users in the field, understanding real-world workflows, and building production-grade mobile applications that solve complex operational challenges.

This is an opportunity to develop AI-powered mobile products used in real-world environments while working in a fast-paced, high-impact team with exceptional ownership and autonomy.

Key Responsibilities

• Work directly with customers to understand field workflows and translate their needs into intuitive mobile applications.
• Design, develop, and deploy end-to-end mobile features across iOS and Android using React Native and TypeScript.
• Build production-ready mobile workflows, including UI, local state management, offline capabilities, synchronization logic, and data handling.
• Develop and maintain native integrations using Swift and Kotlin when deeper platform functionality is required.
• Design reliable offline-first experiences with local persistence, conflict resolution, and seamless synchronization.
• Integrate AI-powered capabilities, including LLMs, AI agents, model-backed APIs, voice interfaces, and on-device intelligence into mobile applications.
• Collaborate with customers and cross-functional teams to define requirements, write technical specifications, and deliver scalable solutions.
• Take full ownership of features from discovery through production deployment while continuously improving application performance and user experience.

Qualifications

• Strong experience developing cross-platform mobile applications using React Native, TypeScript, or equivalent technologies.
• Solid understanding of native mobile development principles for both iOS and Android, with experience working in Swift and Kotlin when required.
• Experience publishing and maintaining applications through the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
• Experience building or integrating backend services, with Python experience considered an advantage.
• Hands-on experience integrating LLMs, AI agents, or model-backed APIs into production mobile applications.
• Strong understanding of offline-first architecture, synchronization strategies, and complex mobile workflows.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work directly with both technical and non-technical customers.
• High level of ownership, product thinking, and the ability to perform effectively in fast-moving environments with evolving requirements.

Nice to Have

• Founder or early-stage startup experience.
• Experience in founder fellowship programs such as EF, YC, or Antler.
• Previous experience as a Forward Deployed Engineer, Solutions Engineer, or other customer-facing engineering roles.
• Experience building and launching AI-powered mobile applications in production.
• Proven ability to thrive in highly ambiguous, rapidly evolving startup environments.
