Job summary

Mitie Group plc. in Chester, Manchester and Liverpool is seeking a Mobile Air Conditioning Engineer (Competent Person) to maintain and repair air conditioning systems across multiple sites.

You will perform planned and reactive maintenance, ensure F-gas compliance, and complete required documentation. The role requires a Level 3 Diploma and NVQ certifications, F-gas Category 1, five years' experience, a UK driving licence, and strong fault-finding skills.

Qualifications

• Strong technical background including a Level 3 Diploma and NVQ certifications in refrigeration, air conditioning, and heat pump systems.
• F-gas Category 1 certification.
• Minimum of five years' post-qualification experience.
• Full UK driving licence with ability to travel between sites.
• Strong problem-solving and fault-finding abilities.
• Clear communication skills.
• Ability to assess and report on equipment condition.
• Proactive approach to independent and team-based work.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance, repairs, and inspections of air conditioning systems across multiple sites
• Ensure compliance with F-gas regulations and all relevant standards
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults
• Perform refrigerant leak testing and recovery
• Complete all required documentation related to maintenance and compliance
• Work in line with health and safety procedures
• Liaise effectively with clients, customers, and contractors
• Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and support the wider team as needed

The A/C Maintenance Engineer at Mitie is responsible for carrying out planned and reactive maintenance, repairs, and inspections of air conditioning systems across multiple sites, ensuring compliance with F-gas regulations and all relevant standards.
