Jagex is seeking an experienced Design Director to lead the MMO design for a RuneScape universe project. You will own the overall design architecture, drive progression and economy systems, and guide live operations to sustain long-term player engagement.

You will mentor a sizeable design team, collaborate with Creative, Production, Engineering, and UX, and ensure designs scale to meet ambitious ground-up and live-project goals in a AAA studio environment.

Qualifications

• Proven track record leading design for MMOs or persistent online worlds.
• Ability to translate a Creative Director's vision into a coherent MMO design framework.
• Strong leadership of large, multidisciplinary design teams.

Responsabilités

• Translate the Creative Director's pillars into a scalable MMO experience.
• Own MMO design architecture across progression, economy, content, social systems, endgame, and live ops.
• Set design strategies, standards, and quality bars for the project.
• Lead and mentor Design Leads and senior designers with clear ownership and decision rights.
• Design for longevity to sustain years of progression and live development.
• Collaborate with Creative, Production, Engineering, UX, Analytics, and others to ensure scalable designs.
• Use telemetry and player feedback to identify issues and iterate the experience.
• Address MMO-specific risks including economy health, progression balance, and content consumption.
