Job summary

Pinsent Masons is expanding its Property MLS team with a Senior Lawyer (4–10 PQE) across Birmingham, Manchester or Leeds. You will act as a trusted adviser on asset management and real estate finance, delivering practical solutions for major clients.

You’ll own complex matters, collaborate across Vario and the national firm, and help develop junior lawyers while embracing technology-enabled delivery and innovative processes.

Qualifications

• Qualified as a lawyer in England & Wales (4–10 years' PQE).
• Strong commercial property experience, particularly asset management.
• Experience advising on real estate finance matters.
• Experience supporting large property portfolios or complex client accounts.
• Excellent drafting, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
• Proactive, client-centric approach with commercially focused advice.
• Interest in legal innovation, technology and modern service delivery models.
• Experience in commercial acquisitions or plot sales would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Act as a trusted legal adviser to clients' legal, estates and operations teams.
• Lead negotiation, drafting and management of asset management matters (leases, licenses, variations, surrenders, extensions, consents).
• Advise on and manage real estate finance transactions (titles, charges, searches, officer's certificates, legal opinions).
• Build strong relationships with clients and align with commercial objectives.
• Collaborate with Vario and Pinsent Masons to deliver seamless legal solutions.
• Support continuous improvement and technology-enabled ways of working.
• Supervise and mentor junior team members.

What You'll Be Doing

As a senior member of the team, you'll play a key role in delivering exceptional service and developing strong client relationships.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Acting as a trusted legal adviser, working closely with clients' legal, estates and operational teams
• Leading the negotiation, drafting and management of a broad range of commercial property asset management matters, including:
• Leases
• Licences
• Variations
• Surrenders
• Extensions
• Consents and related agreements
• Advising on and managing real estate finance transactions, including:
• Certificates of title
• Charges
• Searches
• Officer's certificates
• Legal opinions
• Building strong relationships with clients and understanding their commercial objectives
• Collaborating with colleagues across Vario and Pinsent Masons to deliver seamless legal solutions
• Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and embracing technology-enabled ways of working
• Supporting the development and supervision of junior team members through coaching, mentoring, knowledge sharing and quality oversight
  
  

What We're Looking For

You'll be a confident and commercially focused property lawyer who enjoys building relationships and delivering practical solutions.

We're interested in hearing from candidates who have:

• Qualified as a lawyer in England & Wales with approximately 4-10 years' PQE
• Strong commercial property experience, particularly within asset management
• Experience advising on real estate finance matters
• Experience supporting large property portfolios or complex client accounts
• Excellent drafting, negotiation and stakeholder management skills
• A proactive, client-centric approach and the ability to provide commercially focused advice
• An interest in legal innovation, technology and modern service delivery models
• Experience of commercial acquisitions or plot sales would be advantageous but is not essential
