Job summary

Amazon Uk Services Ltd. is seeking an enthusiastic Software Development Engineer intern to solve real customer problems with scalable services. You will own code from design through deployment, guided by mentorship in a culture of learning and innovation.

Internships across seasons are full-time, typically Monday–Friday, up to 40 hours per week in the office. Successful interns may receive relocation support, competitive compensation, and access to broad employee benefits.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related fields.
• Solid CS fundamentals in OOP, operating systems, algorithms, data structures and complexity.
• Experience with at least one general-purpose programming language (Java, Python, C++, C#, Go, Rust, or TypeScript).

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Amazonians to design, build, and operate innovative products and services.
• Break down complex, ambiguous problems into solvable components.
• Contribute to scalable, reliable services with distributed-systems scope.
• Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback and validating correctness.
• Contribute to clear and accurate technical documentation.
• Use GenAI and AI-powered tools to enhance development productivity and validate AI-generated code.
• Write clean, maintainable code following best practices and design patterns.
• Work in an agile CI/CD environment and participate in on-call responsibilities.
• Demonstrate operational excellence through monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolving production issues.
