Job summary

The Voleon Group in London invites bright graduate students in quantitative fields to join as Research Interns. You will work directly with world-class ML scientists and statisticians to push the frontiers of statistical machine learning on large, high-dimensional data.

You will contribute to predictive models and automated trading components, from data preparation to production-ready software, with a focus on impactful research and real-world finance applications.

Qualifications

• Current graduate student in a quantitative discipline, expecting to attain a Ph.D. degree in December 2026, or anytime in 2027.
• Background in modern statistical methods and machine learning.
• Key contributions to multiple top tier publications.
• Programming experience and interest in software development techniques.
• Authorization to work in the United Kingdom.

Responsibilities

• Work on complex problems with a research team that has collectively published hundreds of academic articles in top-tier venues on machine learning, systems, and theory
• Apply expertise in a technical field such as statistics, mathematics, computer science, engineering, or operations research, to challenging problems in a burgeoning technical field
• Develop predictive models and other components of automated trading systems
• Engage in work ranging from data preparation to model development to production software implementation
