Job summary

ExTrac is seeking engineers to build production-grade ML systems that scale, with hands-on model serving and agent orchestration across retrieval pipelines. You will partner with software and product design to design, evaluate, and deploy robust workflows that remain reliable at scale.

Senior and mid-level candidates will influence technical direction, own components end-to-end, and mentor others while maintaining high standards for architecture and research practice.

Qualifications

• Technical excellence in production-scale systems.
• Hands-on experience with model serving, agent orchestration and retrieval systems.
• Rigour in evaluation and benchmarking.
• Strong engineering fundamentals: clean, maintainable code and robust systems.
• Comfort with a fast paced environment and clear ownership.
• Experience with modern coding agents and thoughtful workflows.
• Desirable: Early-stage startup experience.
• Desirable: Building agentic tools and harnesses.

Responsibilities

• You will design and implement end-to-end ML/AI systems that scale in production.
• Collaborate with software engineering and product design to integrate model evaluations into pipelines.
• Architect agentic systems for large-scale analysis and train domain-specific models.
• Translate research into practical solutions for analysts working at the frontier of their field.
• Set high technical standards and shepherd projects from prototype to production deployment.
• Engage with data collection/processing engineers and senior stakeholders.
• Deliver reliable, production-ready systems balancing research velocity with product constraints.
