Key job responsibilities
  1. Maintain and follow strict confidentiality as customer privacy is our top priority.
  2. Work with various types of data including text, speech, image, and video.
  3. Deliver high-quality labeled data using provided guidelines to meet KPIs, utilizing in-house tools and software.
  4. Serve as a subject matter expert in ML data workflows, demonstrating proficiency in researching, creating factually and grammatically correct responses, ranking responses, and annotating text, speech, image, and video data.
  5. Make logical decisions during tasks, even when information is ambiguous.
  6. Pay close attention to detail and adapt quickly to different requirements.
  7. Support operational metrics like AHT, quality, and TAT across multiple task types.
  8. Handle end-to-end data labeling processes independently, with minimal reliance on instructions.
  9. Contribute to root cause analysis, identify error patterns, and suggest quality improvements.
  10. Identify operational issues in SOPs and tools, and suggest improvements.
  11. Provide floor support to clarify internal queries during task execution as needed.
A day in the life

We seek a ML Data Associate to perform foundational labeling tasks such as dialogue evaluation on speech, text, audio, and video data to enhance Alexa’s performance. Your focus, multitasking ability, and attention to detail will help you deliver high-quality work while maintaining confidentiality and adhering to Amazon policies. You will join a diverse team dedicated to advancing AI technology. Creativity, initiative, and a proactive attitude are highly valued.

About the team

The team works in-office Monday through Friday, with an eight-hour shift. We continuously seek to improve our capabilities and deliver the best products. Our team is diverse, and we offer regular meetings, training, and Amazon events throughout the year.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • Fluent in English, including grammar and spelling (both written and verbal).
  • Comfortable working with speech data from various dialects and accents of English.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 2 years of professional work experience with demonstrated task execution skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office, with a typing speed of over 50 WPM.
  • Ability to evaluate and write on diverse topics across domains.
  • Effective use of open-source resources for research.
  • Adaptability to fast-paced environments and changing strategies.
  • Strong ownership, drive, and ability to meet daily deadlines.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with content management.
  • Familiarity with US culture and communication; prior experience in ML is a plus.
  • Ability to collaborate across teams and handle multiple tasks.
