Pilgrim’s Europe is hiring for an RTE Mixing room operative in Grantham. The role focuses on efficient operation and maintenance of heavy-duty mixing machinery to sustain production targets. The job requires strong physical capability, problem-solving, and teamwork in a high-pressure environment.

Salary starts from £519 weekly (£27 007 per year) with Monday to Friday shifts. On-site role with full training, pension benefits, and opportunities for progression are provided by the company.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Safely operate, assemble, and troubleshoot heavy-duty mixing machinery.
• Perform regular maintenance checks and report issues promptly.
• Decant materials (e.g., 15kg baskets) and push heavy loads as required.
• Monitor processes to maintain product quality and batch records.
• Collaborate with team to resolve production bottlenecks and stay on target.

Shift pattern: Monday to Friday - 06:00-14:00/14:00-22:00 alternating

Job Purpose

To efficiently operate, maintain, and manage heavy-duty mixing machinery while ensuring seamless workflow in a high-pressure production environment. The role demands exceptional physical capability, technical problem-solving skills, and teamwork to meet stringent production targets.

Key Responsibilities

• Machine Operation & Maintenance:
  • Safely assemble, dismantle, operate, and troubleshoot industrial mixing machinery.
  • Perform routine maintenance checks and report mechanical issues promptly.
  • Adhere to strict operational protocols and safety guidelines.
• Material Handling:
  • Decant 15kg baskets of raw materials throughout the shift.
  • Manually push tubs weighing 180-200 kg
  • Ensure accurate material measurement and mixing ratios.
• Workflow Management:
  • Maintain consistent output in a fast-paced environment to meet daily production quotas.
  • Monitor mixing processes, adjusting parameters as needed to ensure product quality.
  • Document batch records and maintain cleanliness in the mixing area.
• Team Collaboration:
  • Work closely with experienced production staff to resolve operational challenges.

Physical Demands

• Heavy lifting (lifting up to 25kg baskets) and pushing loads of 180-200 kg.
• Standing for 90% of the shift with frequent bending, twisting, and reaching.
• Operating in environments with moderate noise and cold.

• Technical Aptitude: Experience operating industrial machinery; mechanical assembly skills preferred.
