Job description

Mixed Veterinary Surgeon - Cumbria

• Fantastic opportunity for a Mixed Veterinary Surgeon to join an independent practice on the outskirts of the stunning Lake District
• Brand new, purpose-built premises with state-of-the-art facilities
• Experienced team of veterinary staff including certificate holders in equine practice, small animal medicine, and diagnostic imaging
• Generous benefits package including a salary of up to £50,000

Are you looking for a change in career? Looking for somewhere where you can enjoy a fulfilling workday, giving the best to lovely clients and patients, but also where you can get the best for you; time to recharge? If so then look no further!

Our client is an independent, family-run practice located on the outskirts of the breathtaking Lake District National Park, and they are looking for a dedicated mixed animal Veterinary Surgeon to join their team.

It is an exciting time to join the team as building work is underway on their brand-new premises, an old Victorian manor house, and they are just weeks away from moving into the much larger site. This modern, purpose-built facility is fully equipped with state-of-the-art kennels and gold standard cattery, an imaging suite, dental suite, theatre, and three consult rooms.

They are searching for an individual who possesses a genuine enthusiasm for traditional mixed practice, combined with a strong desire to contribute to the growth of their small animal caseload which comprises approximately 70% small animal, 30% farm (primarily dairy, with some beef and sheep), and occasional equine cases.

Currently the team consists of six vets with veterinary certificate holders in equine practice, small animal medicine, and diagnostic imaging. They are also a RCVS accredited nurse training practice with an amazing nursing team of 3 RVNs and 3 SVNs, one of whom holds a diploma in canine behaviour.

Our client takes great pride in supporting the professional development of their staff and encourages them to pursue their personal areas of interest. Outside of work they all enjoy a good laugh, including getting together for a night on the town, meeting for a meal of their annual family summer BBQ and Christmas parties, where a good time is had by all.

Whilst our client will welcome applications from seasoned professionals, they also encourage candidates with slightly less experience too. They understand the importance of continued growth and learning, and as such, offer substantial support to help you flourish in your veterinary career.

The Rota:

  1. Full time role – 4 day week
