Based at: Hybrid working - ability to travel across UK and access our HQs at Wantage/Thruxton
The Role (Full time with Part time available)
The primary mission of the Mission Community Armed Forces Engagement Lead is to champion the Armed Forces in society by recognizing, celebrating, and demonstrating the value of every member of the Armed Forces to communities across the country. We are an advocacy body, a brand of the long-established Service charity Mission Motorsport, sharing administrative functions as one charity.
Our current focus is on communities within industry through our work with the Office for Veterans Affairs’ ‘Veterans Industry Engagement Programme’, funded by the Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust (AFCFT) grant. These initiatives involve our ‘Missions’, Sector Initiative campaigns, and collaborations with industry trade bodies, organizations, and companies. These are the main stakeholders our AFELs interact with daily.
This role is strategic and tactical, requiring an individual comfortable communicating with senior industry leaders, participating in events, hosting meetings, and delivering KPIs. This includes our National Transition Event at Silverstone, which annually hosts over 1,900 members of the Armed Forces community. Our team is small, independent, open, and inclusive, approaching projects collaboratively.
