Job summary

Jane Street in London seeks an experienced Technical Operations Engineer to join our highly technical group responsible for operating and managing the critical infrastructure within the London facilities. You will help manage systems that support trading floors, amenities, food service, and mission-critical environments, ensuring 24/7 reliability.

You will contribute to maintenance, commissioning, and optimisation, applying hands-on expertise in building services, electrical and mechanical

Qualifications

• Experience in mission-critical facility operations (5+ years).
• Proficient in building services including plant infrastructure, HVAC, CRACs, UPSs, generators, fire prevention systems and building management systems.
• Strong technical aptitude with computer systems and IT-centric control platforms.
• Skilled in reviewing construction documents, testing/commissioning scripts and RAMs for critical scopes of work.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot field issues independently and manage operational risks.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to explain complex issues clearly.
• Able to collaborate across departments and adapt in evolving environments.

Responsibilities

• Ensure mission-critical systems meet the demanding requirements of a high-performance trading environment.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives while maintaining operational excellence.
• Lead diverse projects from planned maintenance to system upgrades and emergency responses.
• Implement innovative solutions and optimise building automation systems.
• Manage relationships with external vendors, contractors and consultants.
• Be on call for nights and weekends to respond to critical emergencies.
