Job summary

Dex, in partnership with a leading AI software company, is seeking a backend engineer to join a team building mission-critical systems for real-time defence intelligence. You will work on a Rust/Python stack, focusing on reliability in high-stakes environments.

You'll design features for embedded, constraint-driven backends, tackle intermittent connectivity and untrusted networks, and contribute to robust testing and performance benchmarking in a collaborative RFC-driven culture.

Qualifications

• Strong backend development experience in a systems language.
• Experience building distributed systems with fault tolerance and failure modes.
• Expertise in edge computing, latency optimization, or platform engineering.
• Familiarity with REST, GraphQL, gRPC/Protocol Buffers, and Arrow.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement features and infrastructure for a mission-critical backend.
• Engineer for intermittent connectivity and embedded systems.
• Ensure robustness and reliability through testing and benchmarking.
• Contribute to a Rust and Python-based stack.
