MBDA UK Ltd in Bolton invites applications for a Missile Test and Testability Expert. You will lead in test strategy, architecture, and diagnostics across missile programmes, from feasibility through production and support.

You will analyze production data, diagnose failures, and drive improvements while mentoring the Test & Testability team. We seek a degree-educated senior specialist with electronic test, circuit design, testing, and failure analysis expertise, plus experience guiding

Qualifications

• Educated to degree level (or equivalent) with significant experience of electronic test
• Experience in electronic circuit design, testing and failure analysis techniques
• Experience in test equipment design and requirements capture
• Project management and planning experience
• Provide technical leadership across design projects with test equipment requirements
• Experience in DfT and testability
• Ability to influence senior stakeholders on technical direction
• Support department strategy and recruitment efforts

Responsibilities

• Involved in all aspects of the Missile Test process from feasibility to in-service support
• Lead the definition of project test strategy and BIT architecture
• Improve test specifications across projects and write clear diagnostic instructions

An exciting role has become available in our Test Architect team as a Technical expert involved in all aspects of the Missile Test process. If you have experience Electronic circuit design, testing and failure analysis techniques along with Test equipment design then this could be just the role for you!

Salary: Circa £72 ,000 depending on experience

Dynamic (hybrid) working: 3 days per week on-site due to workload classification

Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship .

Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.

The opportunity:

As the Missile Test and Testability Expert you will be reporting in to the Test and Testability Department Head and, from a Project perspective, into the Project Chief Design Engineer. As Test and Testability Architects (TTA), we are involved in all aspects of the Missile Test process - from the early feasibility studies to series production and in-service support.

As a Subject Matter Expert for Missile Test and Testability Architecture you will participate in range of missile programmes using your experience and expertise to improve the definition of test equipment technical requirements by focussing on key areas and removing waste. You'll be managing definition of the project test strategy, Definition of Project BIT architecture including coverage requirements and improving the way we write our specifications across all projects.

As a key member on the team you'll be assessing and recommending improvements to our ways of working across TTA and lead the analysis of production test data to spot trends and diagnose failures. There will also be a need for you to lead the analysis and modelling our system to understand the test coverage and generate diagnostic instructions. Day to day you could also be involved in -

• Participating and supporting Red-Team reviews and activities into critical issues during development and manufacture.
• Supporting new product bid activities.
• Identify, document and deploy best practice across the department and within projects.
• Mentor and actively support members of the Test & Testability department.
• Lead / participate in roadmap development activities.

What we're looking for from you:

• Educated to degree level (or equivalent) with significant experience of electronic test at all stages of project lifecycle, including:
• Electronic circuit design, testing and failure analysis techniques.
• Test equipment design.
• Experience in requirements capture.
• Project management and planning.
• Provide technical leadership to all Test related issues across design projects with proven experience in Test Equipment requirements capture and specification.
• Experience in DfT and testability
• Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders within the business relating to technical direction
• Support departmental strategy and support the department head with recruitment of the right people into the team.

• Strong interpersonal and well developed communication skills (written & verbal).

Willingness to travel when required (UK and EU).
