Job summary

The Glasgow Academy in Glasgow is seeking a reliable School Mini-Bus Driver for term-time operation. You will transport pupils to and from campus on designated routes each school day, ensuring a safe and friendly journey.

Hours are 24 per week, Monday to Friday, with an additional ad-hoc 3 hours on Mondays this academical year. Salary is £16,668, and we require a full, clean UK D1 driving licence and PVG clearance. Prior similar experience and safeguarding awareness are desirable.

The Glasgow Academy is seeking a reliable and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a School Mini-Bus Driver. This role involves transporting pupils to and from our campus each school day, ensuring a safe and friendly journey.

The School

The Glasgow Academy is a high-achieving co-educational independent day school for children aged 3-18.

Founded in 1845, we pride ourselves on the all-round education, first-class facilities and exceptional opportunities our pupils enjoy.

The oldest continuously independent school in the West of Scotland, we are anything but old school. We have 1700 pupils in our care, and we work hard to provide them with the best possible education.

Location: The Glasgow Academy

Key Responsibilities

Essential Requirements

• A full, clean D1 - UK driving licence
• Successful PVG (Protecting Vulnerable Groups) clearance

Desirable

• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Previous experience in a similar driving or school transport role
• Familiarity with safeguarding procedures and working with children
• A flexible and proactive approach to supporting school operations
• Basic understanding of vehicle checks and maintenance.
