Job description

Job Title: Mine Production Manager

We're looking for a Mine Production Manager to assist the Mine Manager through effective management and deployment of personnel and equipment resources to meet safety, quality, and production performance requirements.

Among other duties, you will deputise for the Mine Manager in his absence and undertake these duties and responsibilities in a safe and economical manner, in compliance with mining legislation, company policy, and Managers Rules.

What we're looking for:

• At least 3 years of supervisory or junior management experience in an underground mining environment
• Experience with Drill/Blast and mechanised mining is preferable
• Experience managing production in a unionised environment
• Evidence of involvement and responsibility in health and safety

What you will be doing:

You will have responsibilities across areas including Safety, Mine Planning/Engineering, Environment, CSI/Quality, and People Development.

Some of your duties include, but are not limited to:

• Promoting a positive safety culture
• Conducting accident investigations to identify root causes and implementing containment measures
• Ensuring extraction complies with the Mine's Annual and 5-Year Plan and reserve sequencing
• Communicating plan requirements through Shift Managers and Section Leaders prior to mining activities
• Coordinating activities of geological and survey teams to support production operations
• Ensuring compliance with mining regulations and company standards
• Controlling underground and surface production activities to minimize impact on neighbors
• Directing Shift Managers and Section Leaders to mine the appropriate quality horizon by analyzing quality data and sample results
• Planning shift, daily, and weekly production targets to maintain strategic rock stocks and meet surface plant and external customer requirements
• Promoting a positive and inclusive people culture
