Job summary

Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting Mental Health Nurses to join the Children and Young People Services Mindworks Community Hubs. The role involves managing a caseload of vulnerable youths aged 10–18 at risk of offending behaviour, providing mental health assessments and consultations, and working with Youth Justice referrals.

We have an exciting opportunity for Mental Health Nurses to join Surrey & Borders NHS Foundation Trust (SABP) in the Children and Young People Services (CYPS) Mindworks Community Hubs.

We are looking for clinicians who are creative, highly motivated, shows initiative and passionate and committed for ensuring high quality services for people with mental health needs.

There are 3 full-time posts with SABP bases across the county.

To manage a caseload of young people referred to the service, working collaboratively with other services both internal and external, to provide consultations and mental health assessments to assist young people overcome the obstacles they face and to achieve their potential. These young people will already be working with the Youth Justice Service.

To build a trusting relationship to develop a deeper understanding of the needs of young people and be able to signpost or refer to more appropriate services. This role will involve outreach into the community to meet young people in their own or choice of environment.

To work in partnership with young people, families/ carers and other services regarding decision making and planning to help them to make informed decisions, to enable them to clarify and express their needs and to co-produce solutions.
