Main duties of the job

We are recruiting four Band 7 Central Screening Clinicians to join the Surrey-wide Access and Advice Team within Mindworks.

The post is currently based in Guildford; however, the team base may change in line with service developments. The successful candidates will therefore need to be flexible and willing to travel across Surrey as required to meet the service's needs.

The successful candidates will provide expert clinical screening and telephone triage for urgent and specialist referrals, ensuring children and young people receive the right support, at the right time, through the most appropriate pathway using the THRIVE Needs-Led Approach (i-THRIVE Framework).

Currently, this is not an assessment role. You will use advanced clinical reasoning, risk assessment and safeguarding knowledge to make autonomous decisions regarding referral prioritisation and allocation. You will also support Hub Screening Clinicians with routine referrals when required, provide clinical guidance to colleagues, work closely with the Administration Team and the routine partner team to maintain safe patient flow, and contribute to the ongoing development of the county-wide Access and Advice Team.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Band 7 clinician who is resilient, adaptable and committed to delivering high quality, child‑centred care within a fast paced and evolving service.

Working for our organisation

Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is the leading provider of health and social care services for people of all ages with mental ill-health and learning disabilities in Surrey and North East Hampshire. We also provide social care services for people with a learning disability in Croydon and ASD and ADHD assessment services in Hampshire.

We actively seek to engage people who use our services and our communities in improving the mental wellbeing of the local population. We work closely with other NHS and voluntary sector organisations who provide services and support people who use services and carers.

Surrey is a beautiful county lying just 30 minutes away from Central London and from the South Coast.

Our historic market towns and bustling districts are enveloped in wonderful countryside, and our excellent road and rail networks bring the rest of the country within easy reach.

For international travel, both Gatwick and Heathrow airports are nearby.

Would you like to work in an organisation that sits in the top 10 best NHS Mental Health, Learning Disability and Community Services Trusts to work for? This ranking is based on staff feedback in the 2023 NHS Staff Survey.
