Job summary

Moy Park is seeking a Mill Operator to support the team leader in poultry diet production, maintain safety standards, and communicate with mill operatives to keep tasks on schedule. You will assist with cleaning, sampling raw materials, and recording batch details as part of daily production.

This role involves working 4 on 4 off with 12-hour shifts, days and nights rotating, and regular reporting to the Mill Manager. Training via our Agriculture Academy is provided.

Qualifications

• Assist with mill production while maintaining safety standards.
• Communicate with Mill Operatives to complete tasks on schedule.
• Support cleaning duties and housekeeping of the mill.
• Take direction from Team Leader and report shift-end results.
• Handle weekly stock takes.

Responsibilities

• Gain full understanding of poultry in MP.
• Reduce environmental impact through waste reduction and recycling.
• Maintain maximum continuous production and keep the mill clean.
• Sample and intake Raw Materials to quality standards.
• Record batch numbers to satisfy the production programme.
• Ensure correct supplement amounts in blends and log accordingly.
• Charge the Press surge bin with meal as required.
• Provide corrective actions on faults in absence of the Team Leader.
• Deliver shift-end reports to the Feed Mill Manager.

Working 4 on 4 off 6am - 6pm and 6pm to 6am
Hourly rate £17.75 per hour
PurposeTo assist the team leader with mill production ensuring great safety standards are adhered to and communicating with Mill Operatives to complete tasks on schedule. Assist with cleaning duties within the mill. Under the direction of the Team Leader, aid in the efficient production of Poultry diets in accordance with the Transport schedule and to the standards laid down by the Mill Manager. Liaise with Mill operatives, other Team Leaders, Maintenance Staff, Drivers, Cleaning staff, Raw Material Department Staff, Farm Managers, Office staff and the Mill Manager. • To gain a full understanding of poultry in MP.
• Contribute to that department/ add value by developing requisite skills in this area in line with MP competency framework.
• To work in a manner that actively seeks to reduce any negative environmental impact in relation to the processes and procedures operating within their area and across the wider business e.g. reduction of waste, recycling etc.
• Under the direction of the Team Leader, to help maintain maximum continuous production, and maintain the cleanliness of the Mill.
• Responsible for the sampling and intake of Raw Materials to the quality standards laid down by the Raw Material Department and Mill Manager.
• To ensure the Blending binds are kept charged with Raw materials either from the intake or via the Grinder
• To inform the Raw Material Department of substandard or shortages of raw materials
• Responsible for entering the correct numbers of batches to satisfy the production programme
• Responsible for adding to each mix, the correct amount and type of supplement and other additives and to record accordingly.
• Ensuring the Press surge bin is charged with meal unless other factors intervene.
• In the absence of the Team Leader take corrective action with faults on the Press line and to load vehicles, ensuring the Team Leader is informed as soon as possible.
• To provide shift-end reports to the Feed Mill Manager.
• Handling of any emergency procedures, networking with Feed Mill Manager where required.
• Taking direction of stock take on a weekly basis.
