Job summary

Cranswick Plc at Fridaythorpe is seeking a hands-on manufacturing operativeto help develop technical skills. You will work with computerised control systems, monitor automated equipment, and ensure quality and safety standards are met.

Full training is provided, and the role offers a fixed 3-shift pattern across days and nights with regular breaks. The position is full-time, 48 hours per week, with a focus on learning every stage of production—from receiving materials to loading finished

Qualifications

• No prior feed mill experience required; training provided.
• Reliable, motivated with a can-do attitude; eager to learn.
• Ability to work across different departments in a fast-paced production environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate the computerised production control system.
• Monitor and control automated manufacturing equipment.
• Produce feed safely and efficiently to the daily production schedule.
• Prepare ingredients and additives.
• Monitor product quality and production performance.
• Complete production and traceability documentation.
• Set up and monitor pellet presses.
• Support goods intake and finished product loading.
• Maintain high housekeeping and food safety standards.
• Work across different areas of the mill as part of a flexible team.

Job description

Are you looking for a hands-on manufacturing role where you'll develop technical skills, work with modern computer-controlled equipment, and become part of a supportive team? We're looking for someone who is reliable, motivated, and eager to learn. Previous feed mill experience isn't essential; we're looking for the right attitude. Full training will be provided. Based at our modern feed manufacturing facility in Fridaythorpe, you'll learn every stage of the production process, from receiving raw materials through to producing and loading finished product. Much of the role is carried out from our computerised control room, where you'll monitor and control automated production systems while ensuring quality, efficiency and safety standards are maintained.,

• Operating our computerised production control system
• Monitoring and controlling automated manufacturing equipment
• Producing feed safely and efficiently to the daily production schedule
• Preparing ingredients and additives
• Monitoring product quality and production performance
• Completing production and traceability documentation
• Setting up and monitoring pellet presses
• Supporting goods intake and finished product loading when required
