Job summary

The Timber Group in Herringswell (IP28 6SS) is seeking a Mill Operations Assistant to help keep the mill running clean, safe and on point. You’ll support timber operations, maintain tidy workspaces and provide friendly, reliable service to customers.

You’ll work outdoors in all weather, read paperwork, keep accurate records, and manage your time well when working solo. Training and development are available as you contribute to the team and the group’s continued commitment to safety and quality.

Responsibilities

• Safely unwrap and wrap timber packs.
• Operate machinery at infeed and outfeed to keep things moving smoothly.
• Run the baler and keep it in good shape.
• Help keep the mill clean, tidy and safe.
• Make sure stock is organised and clearly labelled.
• Chat with the team to keep everything running smoothly.
• Jump in with any other tasks that help get the job done.

We're located 7 miles from Newmarket and 15 miles from Bury St Edmunds.

As an Operations Assistant, you’re all about keeping the mill running smoothly. You’ll help make sure the space is clean, safe and efficient, while giving customers friendly, reliable service. You’re a key part of the team, jumping in where needed and helping things flow without a hitch.
