Job Details

Interviews are scheduled for 28th May 2025, AM only. The role is 37 hours per week, Monday to Thursday 08:00-16:30, Friday 08:00-13:00. The pay rate is £12.21 per hour. Free car parking is available. Check your local transport links here: Plan Your Journey | Traveline.

Job Introduction

As a Military Stores Clerk at Merville Barracks, Circular Road South, Colchester, your role is crucial for ensuring the smooth operation of facilities management. You will support our team and deliver excellent service to colleagues and clients, maintaining uninterrupted daily operations.

Responsibilities
  1. Provide clerical support to the Supply Manager and department personnel.
  2. Use the MODNET IT system for processing orders and maintaining records.
  3. Amend and file authoritative publications.
  4. Manage the Unit Stationery account.
  5. Handle official mail receipt, packaging, and distribution.
  6. Report priority faults promptly.
  7. Process course applications for authorized personnel.
  8. Maintain documentation for audits related to Supply Chain and Safety, Health, Environmental & Fire standards.
  9. Record and report accidents/incidents to the casualty notification cell.
  10. Support business continuity in the absence of the Supply Manager.
  11. Produce sensitive written work for the Supply Manager.
  12. Monitor and manage medical supplies, ensuring they are within their shelf life.
  13. Order replacements via MJDI, CP&F systems as needed.
  14. Coordinate with suppliers and logistics to ensure timely deliveries.
  15. Maintain accurate inventory records.
  16. Conduct monthly assurance checks on medical equipment.
  17. Perform other tasks as directed by the Supply Manager.
Requirements
  • Security Check (SC) clearance, secured after a successful interview.
  • IT skills, confident in Microsoft Office and inventory systems.
  • Experience in inventory or stock control roles.
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with military personnel of all ranks.
