We’re seeking problem-solvers with a keen eye for optimization opportunities, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization. Your curiosity will drive you to explore the systems that power our operations and understand their interdependencies and interactions. Join us to shape the future of e-commerce fulfilment at Amazon.
At Amazon's European Central Flow Team (ECFT), Process Control Specialists (PCS) synchronize their schedules with Fulfillment Center partners, operating a 4x10 work week from LCY Tilbury. Shifts run Sunday-to-Wednesday or Wednesday-to-Saturday, covering day and night operations. Wednesdays serve as an “overlap day” for ongoing operations and dedicated project work, professional growth, training, and deep-dive analyses, resulting in a 3-day weekend each week.
A typical day begins with a comprehensive assessment of current state metrics. We analyse order volumes, workstream distributions, and compare real-time data against network-wide metrics and plans. Using our proprietary systems, we craft dynamic staffing plans, determine optimal associate placement and timing, and refine the plan with FC management as orders flow in and conditions change. We adapt to fluctuating demand to maintain control. When volumes surge, we modulate inflow or redistribute workload across the network. As capacity nears limits, we reschedule orders to uphold customer promises and prevent late deliveries.
In the event of disruptions—such as a conveyor malfunction, weather events, or software glitches—our PCS team acts quickly with mitigation strategies and robust contingency plans. We test, iterate, and optimize resources to restore normal operations. Our strength lies in mobilizing cross-functional partnerships to enable swift communication and rapid resolution while maintaining customer focus and operational excellence.
The European Central Flow Team (ECFT) is a vital component of PE and a core part of Amazon's FC network. We operate with a Day 1 mindset, 24/7 communication, and deep expertise to drive continuous innovation, standardization, and improvement.
