This Worker engagement opportunity is pivotal to the Royal Air Force (RAF), supporting its recruiting operations by delivering an exceptional candidate experience throughout an inclusive recruitment process.

As a medical doctor engaged on a Worker basis, you'll conduct efficient medical screenings to ensure the right candidates pass assessments, contributing to recruiting quality personnel to maintain the operational capability of the Royal Air Force now and in the future. Working alongside a dedicated team of medical examiners and clinical staff, your work will directly support national security and make a significant impact in the community. This role offers a unique clinical engagement opportunity to utilize your skills and experience in a different setting.

Available at sites in Belfast, Grantham, Peterborough, Nottingham, Birmingham, Wolverhampton, Leicester, Coventry, Oxford, Gloucester, and Reading. The work schedule is flexible, Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend opportunities.

You will receive a Capita Worker Contract for Services, with work days offered based on your availability and acceptance.

Job Description:

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct face-to-face medical assessments against Tri-service entry standards.
  • Review candidates' medical records as part of assessments.
  • Update the Capita Service Entry Medical Report (SEMR) with findings and results.
  • Assess clinical conditions to determine fitness for RAF entry.
  • Recommend medical suitability to RAF colleagues.
  • Maintain GMC registration, license to practice, and relevant skills.

Requirements:
  • Fully GMC qualified medical practitioner with a license to practice.
  • IT literacy, including experience with Microsoft Office.
  • Flexibility to travel between sites.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills, both in person and in writing.
