Job summary

GBR Recruitment Ltd are working with a leading steel structures company in Leicestershire, seeking two experienced sub-contract MIG Welder Fabricators to construct and assemble mild and stainless steel parts per drawings. A 6-month contract is expected, with potential extension depending on orders.

TIG welding ability is advantageous. Reading drawings, cutting, forming and welding will be performed in a workshop environment.

Qualifications

• Proven MIG fabricator welder experience on mild & stainless steel.
• Current or previous coded welding certifications/time served welder.
• Ability to read technical drawings and follow project specs.
• High attention to detail with precision measuring tools.
• Experience in workshop environment; able to work on site.

Responsibilities

• Read and work to technical engineering drawings.
• Cut, form materials and operate workshop machinery (press brakes, guillotines, drills).
• Fabricate and produce high-quality MIG welds on mild steel, stainless steel & aluminium.
• Perform MIG welding quality and dimensional checks against specs.
• Maintain, clean and perform preventative maintenance on torches, gas lines and tools.

Job description

GBR Recruitment Ltd are working in exclusive partnership with a leading steel structures company based in Leicestershire recruiting for two experienced sub-contract MIG Welder Fabricators to construct & assemble mild steel & stainless steel parts adhering to the set project specifications / technical drawings.

Sub-contract likely to run for c.6 months maybe more, due to a heavy customer order book.

If you can weld TIG too then that would also be an added advantage.

Key duties

• Reading & working to technical engineering drawings
• Cutting / forming materials, grinding, bending using workshop machinery (e.g., press brakes, guillotines & drills)
• Fabricating & producing high-quality MIG welds on mild steel, stainless steel & aluminium
• Performing MIG welding quality & dimensional checks against set specifications.
• Maintain, clean, and perform preventative maintenance on welding torches, gas lines, and fabrication tools.

Attributes

• Proven experience in a MIG fabricator welder role, using mild & stainless steel to produce bespoke builds.
• Self employed status (CIS etc.)
• Capability to work with and adjust techniques for mild steel, stainless steel & aluminium works.
• Current or previous coded welding certifications / time served welder
• High attention to detail with the ability to use precision measuring tools
• Used to working in a workshop & happy to be workshop based.
