Job summary

GBR Recruitment Ltd, in exclusive partnership with a leading steel structures company in Leicestershire, is recruiting two experienced MIG Welder Fabricators to construct and assemble mild and stainless steel parts to engineering drawings.

You will read technical drawings, cut, form, grind, bend using workshop machinery, and MIG weld to tight tolerances. A time-served welder or coded welding certification is expected, with meticulous attention to detail in a busy workshop environment.

Qualifications

• Proven MIG fabricator welder with experience in mild & stainless steel.
• Ability to read and work to technical drawings.
• Experience with workshop machinery and fabrication tools.
• Coded welding certifications or time served welder.
• High attention to detail and use of precision measuring tools.

Responsibilities

• Read and follow technical engineering drawings.
• Cut, form, grind, bend materials using workshop machinery.
• Fabricate high-quality MIG welds on mild steel, stainless steel & aluminium.
• Perform weld quality and dimensional checks.
• Maintain and service welding torches and gas lines.

Job description

GBR Recruitment Ltd are working in exclusive partnership with a leading steel structures company based in Leicestershire recruiting for two experienced MIG Welder Fabricators to construct & assemble mild steel & stainless steel parts adhering to the set project specifications / technical drawings.

Key duties include:

• Reading & working to technical engineering drawings
• Cutting / forming materials, grinding, bending using workshop machinery (e.g., press brakes, guillotines & drills)
• Fabricating & producing high-quality MIG welds on mild steel, stainless steel & aluminium
• Performing MIG welding quality & dimensional checks against set specifications.
• Maintain, clean, and perform preventative maintenance on welding torches, gas lines, and fabrication tools.

Attributes:

• Proven experience in a MIG fabricator welder role, using mild & stainless steel to produce bespoke builds.
• Capability to work with and adjust techniques for mild steel, stainless steel & aluminium works.
• Current or previous coded welding certifications / time served welder
• High attention to detail with the ability to use precision measuring tools
• Used to working in a workshop & happy to be workshop based.
