Job summary

Carver Engineering is seeking a skilled Welder to join our growing fabrication team. The successful candidate will have welding experience in steelwork, fabrication or construction with a strong focus on quality, safety and productivity in a fast-paced industrial setting.

Key duties include MIG welding on mild steel to engineering drawings, preparing materials, inspecting welds and collaborating with fabricators to meet production deadlines while maintaining a clean, safe workshop and adhering

Qualifications

• Experience as a welder in fabrication or manufacturing.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Proficient in MIG welding; other welding processes are a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship.
• Solid knowledge of health and safety practices.
• Physically fit for an industrial environment.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Carry out MIG welding on mild steel components to engineering specifications.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and welding symbols.
• Prepare materials prior to welding, including cutting, grinding, and cleaning.
• Inspect completed welds to ensure they meet quality and structural standards.
• Work closely with fabricators and other team members to meet production deadlines.
• Use welding equipment and tools safely and correctly.
• Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
• Follow all health and safety procedures, including the correct use of PPE.
