Job summary

Bamford Contract Services Ltd in Manchester is seeking an experienced MIG/TIG Welder for a permanent role within a modern manufacturing facility. You will undertake MIG and TIG welding of sheet metal components, producing high-standard welds in stainless and mild steel, and work from engineering drawings to tight tolerances.

Qualifications

Location: Manchester Salary: £17.10 - £25.65 per hour Hours: 38-44 hours per week Overtime: Paid at 1.5x after 38 hours Job Type: Full-time, Permanent Hours of work 7.40am - 4.30pm Monday - Thursday 7.40am - 12.20pm Friday Plenty of overtime available

Bamford Contract Services are currently recruiting for an experienced MIG/TIG Welder to join a well-established manufacturing business in Manchester.

Our client operates a modern manufacturing facility specialising in high-quality, high-volume precision sheet metal fabrication, providing services across CNC punching, laser cutting, bending, forming, welding, powder coating, painting, machining, fabrication and assembly.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled, reliable and hardworking Welder looking for a long-term permanent position within a professional manufacturing environment.

MIG/TIG Welder Key Responsibilities

• MIG and TIG welding of sheet metal components
• Welding stainless steel and mild steel to a high standard
• Working with materials ranging from 0.7mm stainless steel up to 10mm mild steel
• Producing high-quality, accurate welds to specification
• Reading and working from engineering drawings
• Maintaining high standards of workmanship and quality
• Working safely and efficiently within a busy production environment

MIG/TIG Welder Essential Requirements

• Minimum 5 years' welding experience
• Time-served Welder
• Proven experience in both MIG and TIG welding
• Previous sheet metal welding/fabrication experience is essential
• Strong experience welding stainless steel
• Ability to weld to a high standard
• TIG coding/certification would be advantageous
• Good attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Reliable and hardworking approach
