Job summary

Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust is seeking a Midwifery Matron for Professional Practice to lead clinical excellence and professional development across midwifery, nursing and support staff within our tertiary maternity and neonatal services.

The role focuses on staff wellbeing, evidence-based care, training governance and alignment with NHS standards, with line management responsibilities and collaboration with senior leadership to improve safety and outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional, clinical and operational leadership to high standards of midwifery and nursing practice, education and staff development within a large tertiary maternity and neonatal service.
• Line manage professional development midwives, fetal well-being midwives and clinical placement support midwives and collaborate with Neonatal Educators.
• Ensure practice, education provision and student support are safe, evidence-based and aligned with NMC standards and NHS priorities.
