Join Our Dynamic Midwifery Team!

Are you a passionate midwife ready to embark on an exciting journey in a vibrant healthcare environment? Look no further! We're seeking both experienced and newly qualified midwives to join our dedicated team at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals.

As a valued member of our team, you'll have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of mothers and babies. Newly qualified midwives will be welcomed into our Band 5 preceptorship programme. Upon successful completion, you'll progress onto the Band 6 rotation, where you'll continue to grow and thrive in your career.

Scope of Practice
  • Assist and support the lead midwife in the safe and effective management of the area, including personnel, facilities, and associated systems.
  • Coordinating and delivering care through appropriate professional practice, delegation, and supervision.
  • Ensuring a high standard of midwifery care is delivered based on assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation in accordance with local and national standards and evidence-based guidelines.
  • Setting, monitoring, and maintaining standards of care to enhance patient experience and outcomes.
  • Proactively managing risk patient safety in accordance with health, safety, and security legislation and guidelines.
  • Communicating relevant information to the multidisciplinary team and external organisations to ensure seamless care.
  • Promoting education and health promotion while advocating for equality in care and practice.
  • Ensuring the care environment is safe, well‑equipped, and compliant with hygiene and cleanliness standards.
