Job description

Responsibilities
  • Work in partnership with a multi-agency and multi-disciplinary team from midwifery, health and social care to provide and co-ordinate the highest standards of care for women and their families with complex social issues.
  • Support colleagues through coordinating care; providing training and guidance in maternal mental health for key maternity staff, to enable them to provide holistic care that optimises mental as well as physical health.
  • Join the Enhanced Support Midwifery team at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals and make a valuable contribution to the families in our care.
  • Perform a key role within the enhanced support midwifery team; develop and maintain high standards of care for women and their families with complex social needs and challenges in pregnancy and the postnatal period.
  • You will support the specialist midwives within the team on a daily basis caring for women and their families with complex social issues.
  • You will be rostered within the team to carry out the daily safety huddle and duty responsibilities.
  • Have a sound knowledge of working families with complex social issues.
