A prominent healthcare trust in the UK is seeking a dedicated Midwife to provide comprehensive care to women during the antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal periods. You will be responsible for assessing, planning, and implementing care while also supporting staff and maintaining high standards in clinical practice. Excellent interpersonal skills and a commitment to midwifery advancements are essential for success in this role.
The successful candidate will be an autonomous practitioner, taking responsibility for the provision of care throughout the antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal periods for women and babies in the hospital and in continuity of care settings.
You will be responsible for the assessment, planning and implementation of care to both high and low risk women in the antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal period in the hospital and the Continuity of Care setting. You will also support the team/ward in the effective management of the clinical area.
You will support, supervise and teach staff/students in evidence based client centred care, which is of a high standard, being responsible for ensuring that all care is delivered according to Trust policies and procedures and maintaining associated records of care.
We have a robust preceptorship package in place for newly qualified midwives and a dedicated Practice Development Midwife.
The midwifery teams at WUTH provide care to approximately 3200 women and their families in the antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal period, both low and high-risk women. Encompassed within the unit is a Level 3 Unit for Neonatal Services, Children’s Services and Women’s Unit. We have a reputation for innovation in providing high-quality care to women in a hospital/community setting.
You should have excellent interpersonal skills and a clear demonstration of the ability to provide personalised maternity care. You should have a clear commitment to current developments and initiatives within the Midwifery arena and sound knowledge of current issues in the public health agenda.
