Position

This is an exciting opportunity for a Midwife to work within the Tair Sir/Three Counties Community Team that would include Crymych, Cardigan, Newcastle Emlyn, Llandysul, Llanybydder and Lampeter areas, providing all aspects of midwifery care for women and their families in the rural Welsh community setting.

Responsibilities
  • Provide and increase Midwifery Led Care, promoting home births and supporting the Midwifery Led Care Unit at Glangwili General Hospital, Carmarthen.
  • Coordinate care for high‑risk pregnancies, working closely with multi‑disciplinary teams to ensure a high quality, seamless service.
  • Travel promptly between rural sites where public transport is limited or unavailable.
  • Practice outside of guidance where appropriate and develop skills in independent clinical decision‑making.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Registered Midwife with experience in community midwifery.
  • Desirable: ability to speak Welsh (English is equally welcome).
  • Willingness to travel between multiple rural sites.
  • Commitment to providing compassionate, women‑centred care and participation in continuous professional development.

The ability to communicate in Welsh is desirable for this post. Hywel Dda University Health Board plans and provides NHS healthcare services for people living in Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire and bordering counties. We have over 13,000 staff and together we provide primary, community, in‑hospital, mental health and learning disabilities services.
