Midweight to Senior Interior Designer and Specifier

YKG Group and Extension Architecture is one of London’s leading Architecture & Planning consultancies, specialising in High End Residentials, planning applications, building-regulation drawings, interior design, project management and contract administration.

The Role

As a Midweight to Senior Interior Design Specifier for High End Residential you will:

• Lead project delivery from brief through to hand-over, managing schedules, budgets and quality controls for mainly Residential Projects.
• Experience of Tender Pack
• Project Management is Great Plus
• Manage a small team (up to five designers/assistants), mentoring and delegating to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.
• Develop accurate 3D models (kitchens, bedrooms, bathrooms) in SketchUp, AutoCAD and Revit.
• Produce interior detail drawings, tender packs and coordinate structural & building-regulation documentation.
• Create design presentations—renders, visualisations and mood boards—to communicate ideas to clients and stakeholders.
• Run client meetings, either on-site or via Zoom, leading your team to present proposals, gather feedback and build rapport.
• Participate in a weekly managers’ forum to brainstorm and refine tactics for selling our interior-design services.
• Actively sell our interior-design services, articulating value propositions and tailoring pitches to client aspirations.
• Understand and explain cost implications of design options; prepare and present accurate fee proposals, budgets and spend justifications.
• Oversee FF&E procurement schedules; track profit & loss and liaise with suppliers.
• Maintain project records, design checklists and data for business-analysis processes.
• Collaborate closely with senior architects, marketing and business-development teams.
• Ensure all deliverables comply with relevant regulations, company procedures and quality standards.
• Pursue continual professional development and uphold excellent communication skills.

Who You Are

• Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or equivalent.
• 4+ years’ experience in a midweight to senior interior-design role.
• Proven proficiency in SketchUp, AutoCAD and Revit.
• Demonstrable project-management experience, with strong organisational & budgeting skills.
• Track record of leading and developing a small team (ideally 3–5 people).
• Strong commercial acumen: comfortable selling professional services and discussing budgets/fees with clients.
• Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
• Able to work autonomously and collaboratively within a tight-knit studio.
